St Johnís Community Hospital provides long term residential, respite rehabilitation care for patients from the local community.St John’s Community Hospital is a purpose-built, single-storey building which provides services for 116 residents.
The premises is set in a large health campus, which also provides a day centre for older people and a range of mental health service facilities.
St John’s Community Hospital aims to provide person-centred care for members of the older population of Co. Wexford.
Residential accommodation is divided into four wards.
Facilities include an oratory, a smoking room, administration offices, staff changing facilities, a staff canteen, the central kitchen, a staff library, and the main reception area.
Occupational therapy and physiotherapy offices and treatment facilities are provided for residents in the rehabilitation service and for outpatients.
There are three enclosed, secure gardens which are accessible to residents and provide some shelter and seating.
One of these was for the sole use of residents and visitors in the Ivy ward and is undergoing further development.
